    A Book Apart

    Jason Santa Maria:

I’m very pleased to present A Book Apart, a new publisher of brief books for people who make websites, founded by Jeffrey Zeldman, Mandy Brown, and myself.

Just ordered the first book in the series HTML5 For Web Designers by Jeremy Keith. I’m very excited for what is sure to be the first of many great books.

  3. New open standards created in the mobile era, such as HTML5, will win on mobile devices (and PCs too). Perhaps Adobe should focus more on creating great HTML5 tools for the future, and less on criticizing Apple for leaving the past behind.

Great read from Steve Jobs on why Flash is not and will not be included on their iPhones, iPods and iPads. Love the way he ends it with the quote above, us Web Designers can only hope Adobe would take his advice.

  4. Transmit 4

    Transmit 4

Transmit is a FTP client for the Mac by Panic, this was one of those apps I saw when I was using Windows that made me want to switch to a Mac. Today it has been upgraded to version 4 and its a big update with a bunch of great new features, the whole app got a overhaul and its beautifully designed.

The website itself is also just as good. Loving how it showcases the new features, the truck icon is just so good, great job by Panic all around.

    Fantastic Mr. Fox

Just had the pleasure of watching this film last night. The whole film is very cosy and there are so many little design details that go into each scene which are all built by hand. Really amazing and inspiring to see.
